Cable Installer
Reports to:
Activations Manager
The Role:
To Install Copper and Optical Fibre Cables.
Responsibilities:
To identify the designated route and duct for the installation.
To guard all open structures and equipment.
To prepare the network structures and existing cables for cabling operations.
To use appropriate methods to install cabling rope.
To site and use winches, cable trailers and cabling equipment safely.
To install cable using the method appropriate to the cable being installed.
To seal cable ends.
To label and restrain installed cable.
Skill/Experience:
Cable installation training and/or on the job training or Previous telecommunications cable installation experience
Knowledge of relevant quality standards.
Qualifications:
K1 Cabling in Duct and Vehicles
K2 Safety Check of vehicles and Cabling Equip
NRSWA Unit 2
Gas Testing.
